Set in 1977 and featuring a vibrant score that blends ’70s rock, ’40s big band, and contemporary theatrical sounds, Platinum Dreams follows the intertwined journeys of three extraordinary artists. Lila Halliday, a musical movie star from the 1940s, is determined to make a comeback by recording her first-ever solo album. Dan Hardin, a fiery rock ’n’ roll star, fights to stay relevant on the charts. And Jamie Stiles, a record producer and studio owner, is Dan’s former writing partner—and former lover. Destiny brings these three talented individuals together, each with their own agendas, leading them to confront their pasts, accept one another, and ultimately chase their dreams. Directed by York’s Interim Artistic Director Joseph Hayward, with music direction by David Klodowski, Platinum Dreams is a heartfelt story of ambition, reconciliation, and the power of music.
